Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Pictured above is a plate of cookies that Kai (3 years old) made and decorate all by himself!!! Future pastry chef?? Well, he did have help from a box mix (Organic Arrowhead Mills Chocolate Cookie Mix).
He did the mixing, rolling, cutting and decorating! I put the pink icing in a piping bag and the white icing in a squeeze bottle. I'm being a proud Mama because I think he did great for decorating with royal icing for the first time!
For children, I highly recommend the squeeze bottle. It's less of a mess and easier for them to work with. We also used the Food Doodlers Edible Food coloring markers. I know we'll be making many more cookies now that we have the basics down.
