My two new obsessions are cupcakes and all things related to bento box lunches! My oldest is starting kindergarten next week and I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I only feed my kids almond butter and jam sandwiches as a snack or a super quick lunch when they can't wait and tell me that they are "hungry now!" I then panicked because Kai can not and probably will not eat almond butter sammies more than once a week, so I have to figure out pretty quickly what I'm going to do.
I looked around for ideas and I am so inspired by the Weelicious website, that I want to send Kai to school with a bento box lunch too! I have been looking at all things bento related on Jbox and amazon. I wish I could travel to Japan and scoop up all the cute gear, I swear I could die from cuteness! I really have to stop myself before I buy everything I see. My husband just laughs and thinks that I'm joking, but I'm not. I already have a long wish list of things to get. I have three kids to justify my madness. Anyone in Japan, want to send over Thomas the Train bento gear or any cute kitchen gadgets, I'll bake you some cookies and brownies.
My second obsession has lead me to sign up for a Wilton cake decorating class. I can frost and do a few basic pipes, but I want to learn it all! I want to learn how to do those butter cream roses, and crazy piping techniques that will transform my plain cupcakes into something fantastic like the creations in Hello Cupcake. I take my first class this Sunday, so wish me luck. I'm a little nervous because I haven't taken a class is so long, but I'm so excited. I'm a geek when it comes to food and sugar.
